im in another one of my movie phases. quentin tarantino is a god. i bought a star invaders magazine from 1985 that was never released to the public because it had a featured article that claimed Eddie Murphy would be playing the role of Winston because the original actor wasn't avalible, which of course wasn't true. seeing as how the past few weeks' nights have consisted of me watching at least 1 movie every night before bed, i feel it my civic duty as well as occupational obligation (i work at blockbuster) to demand you rent buy borrow download whatever the following films:
Nick of Time
Sleepy Hollow
Haggard
Spun
Resevoir Dogs
From Dusk Till Dawn
The Incubus
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation
Last House on the Left
Eraserhead
Shakes the Clown
U-Turn
Pulp Fiction
Orgy of the Dead
Dawn of the Dead
Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil
Night of the Demons
The Beliver
House of 1000 Corpses
White Zombie
Night of the Hell Bat
Nosferatu
Lost in La Mancha
The Brave
Dog Day Afternoon
and i could go on.
ive learned that im a self centered elitist prodding nerd on 2 things. movies and music. movies. because of where i work and 99/100 people that rent anything, i hate. rent Pi or Jacobs Ladder or say Fletch? No. Rent Just Married, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Two Weeks Notice. bland boring repetitive re-made generic films with high profile players playing realistic roles in unrealistic situations. music. i bought metallica - ride the lightning in 3rd grade. i bought ac/dc - ball breaker in 4th grade. i bought marilyn manson - portrait of an american family in 5th grade. due to this early on exposure of music at an age my brain is locked into god-mode (like on Duke Nukem 3d or Doom, you know) and i feel as if what i like is whats righteous and what i dont like is shit. ignorant? nah. im just canny. of course i hate the usual good charolette (cant spell it) vines strokes stripes swing swinging rejects blahabalhabalhablhaabblahablhaba because when i hear it i hear nothing. i hear some kids sitting in a garage compsoing a song that think sounds catchy. or rather a writer at a label doing so, not some kids sitting in a garage writing songs so that they can rule the world. so im a fuck about movies and music, who isnt a fuck about something? i bet youre a fuck about the way others dress, or the food people eat, or maybes its music or movies. everyones a fuck in one way or another. the moral of this opus of self-righteous condemnation is simply to be who you are. there are people who actually enjoy watching simple minded movies, because they dont enjoy having to anylyze every turn of the plot and take in any other complexities, they just enjoy watching a movie. some people like repeated pasted studio created music because they dont need to try and figure out if its 4/4 8/8 10/8 or if that solo is 142 bps. they dont need every song to be the wall or stair way to heaven (i fucking hate led zepplin) or respect, they just want to hear something that their ears like. now. does this make this person in some way inferior to me or my choices of medial entertainment? youre fucking right it does.
